HOUSE HUNTERS:decatur style

its been 3 months since i posted about my house...
its been a loooong 3 months
i have sent about 30 faxes, emailed over 75 times, and have texted and called a gauntlet of people
this has been one of the most difficult 3 months of my life.
being able to see something you know is yours and not being able to obtain it is pure TORTURE...
patience and family/friend counseling (lol) has been the keys to me not giving up on this thing
I thought that this process was going to be a smooth one since the beginning was so smooth but boooyyy was i wrong.
I dont think ive ever spent this much time trying to spend MY MONEY but i guess the deal i got is worth waiting for... hopefully i get the keys soon.

PLAYOFF BASKETBALL

Since early last season i have been a OKC fan... rooting for a hometown guy(Kevin Durant) was my main motivation but the fact that they are a pretty good squad helps too. Since my home squad, the dismal WIZARDS are pretty much an easy win for most teams, i cant see myself rooting for them outside of the occasional time when i get some free tix to go to a game.

The Thunder are making major moves in this years playoffs. With the addition of a Big Man, Kendrick Perkins, they are actually able to bang with the teams in the west. Last night i stayed up allllll 3 OVERTIMES to see them throw the knockdown punch to the memphis grizzlies. They just tied the series but at the same time swung the momentum back their way in the hopes of reaching the conference finals and more this year.

Im no coach but i know basketball. Westbrook seems to want to sabotage his team with his late game bullheadedness. HE IS THE NUMBER 2 man on that team PASS THE ROCK, facilitate, get the ball to the 2 TIME SCORING CHAMP! and let him go to work!

LETS THUNDERUP! #thatisall lol

Fundamental style

I am a fan of sports... all kinds... but the most slept on game to me is womens basketball. But i think its due in part to the lack of excitement. The game is so precise, so methodical...but at the same time its BORING. If you aren't rooting for a friend who is playing or watching it because you got free/discounted tickets you probably dont even know when its being played(or care for that matter).

But i want to know why they would change the ball size to help the game and move the 3pt line in but not LOWER THE GOAL! there are some 6 foot plus chicks in college and the pro's that i think could YAMMM on a chick if they had the goal lowered a good 4-6 inches. I may be wrong but i only know of 3-4 women who have actually dunked in a televised game... Lisa leslie, Candace Parker, Brittney Griner, but im sure there were a few more who can get up there. But most of them were WIDE OPEN and more of proper placement than actual exciting plays. Seeing a chick throw down a tomahawk or windmill or even a 360 would add a bit of AWE and PANACHE to the game.

When u have players like Blake griffin(NBA) Dunking 6 times a game whether it be a oop or just a breakaway slam its a HIGHLIGHT! His team has only won 25 or so games but they are packing out arenas be cause they wanna see him FLY! why not give that opportunity to the womens game?

My twisted dark guinness shanty

While in DC i visited one of my favorite spots downtown, McCormicks and Schmicks for St. Pattys. They went allllllll in. My favorite bartenders were there, Mick and Tony pourin it up! They were passing around some free house drinks that weren't bad and were raffling off random ish as well. Once the crowd died down and it got to be a 15 people crowd by the bar the party really went in. Shamba made a jumper on the Nerf net to win a ipod boombox. and the guiness was rolling... I wanted a Bruised pear which is Guinness and Cider but they didnt have cider....BLOWN... but Tony said i should try a SHANTY... i said WTF is that. he replied "its guinness and lemonade". I tried it and it was GOOD, almost like a blue moon in flavor. Smooth and citrusy. But my cuzzo @CdotJdotC Chad was like why dont u put some Absolute Citrus in there. i was skeptical but we tried it and it was created. THE TWISTED SHANTY.... if u get a chance. try it out... it adds a lot of PUNCH to the shanty and cranked the night up a notch. After that they passed me the nerf RoCK and i was on fire 4 for 4 and the shots of tullamore dew started flowing... sprinkle in a few granny apple shots and a couple irish car bombs and the night ended like this....
Chad and Mick.... chad with his clover shell on...lol THE BLACK-IRISH TURTLE lol

Home sweet home

For the past 12 days ive been in the DMV.... my longest trip home since my college days on break from CAU... chillin would have to be an understatement... besides working around the house...i stayed far away from too much manual labor...

I had some of the best tequila i've ever tasted... had made to order guac, tuna tartar, a cuban sandwich, toronto rolls, california rolls, Guinness in every form, SHOTS SHOTS AND MORE SHOTS of Tullamore Dew, Crab dip, Lobster and crab tortellini, spicy chicken and brown rice...a drink called blue that was green lol, and went to BAR7, LUXE, TIZO, McCormicks and Schmicks, MO's (BMORE), and Sala Thai. Also saw a few movies...and MIKE EPPS and Friends, pure comedy.(never walk in late if ur sitting on the front row)

I didn't get to see everyone or go to every spot. But i made a few new friends and a few business contacts as well. When i go home its like even tho i know my way around im always discovering or getting introduced to new things and ways around the city. I enjoy being home...

Now its back to the grind. adding work back into the everyday life...

ON TIME?

who knew that after 4 hours of searching online i'd fine a lil place i can call home?
After getting preapproved the process went by so fast... i didnt just look at one house but the first out of 5 or 6 happened to be the one that was in the cards for me.
I didnt wanna show too much interest so i played it cool...
the second house was TOO DAMN FAR! and the community was too open
the realtor showed me another and i bit on it, but there were too many stipulations( damn thought i had one)
asked her to show me a few more just so could have some comparisons...
told her to ask about the pricing on the first one and she said she would ask
she got back quicker than i expected told me that a lower offer was possible and they were entertaining anything reasonable.
out the offer in...ACCEPTED!
paperwork paperwork paperwork has been the bast 15-20 days...now the waiting
if everything goes as planned...KEYS IN HAND in less than 2 months...
as my boy would say "prayers went up" - @kidking

to IPAD or IPAD 2

tough decision... im an apple junkie so my first instinct is to go get the second one... but idk yet...mine is practically brand new!! i have a few movies and lots of games on it, and i love it...but do i really need the faster processor... the dual cam... the better vid card/screen display...hdmi output? i would like to think so but i think i am going to have to be on the reserve on this one and wait in the wings for a little while... BUT MAN IS IT TEMPTING!

but if anyone is willing to give me an offer i am def taking them into consideration

The Madness is upon us

Yet another march rolls around...
you know what time it is...
you can smell it in the air...
if you are a sports fan you know that around this time there is only one thing that matters MARCH MADNESS!
even if you aren't alumni, maybe your hometown school, maybe your fam went there...
no matter the story (or the bandwagon...AHEM) its time to rep!
filling out brackets and waging bets is a must...
i'll have a few of the both....
my team this year and every year is THEM HOYAS but we are banged up. I hope we can recover before the tourney starts so we can make a decent run.

INK... more than a STENCIL

For as long as i can remember ive wanted to get tattoos. My dad wasn't opposed but my mom...TOOOTALLY AGAINST IT. Her words to a tee; "Your body is mine until you turn 18, after that you do what youwant." Since that convo at 12 years old (lol) i plotted the day that i got my first ink. Not being a fan of needles i was a bit apprehensive, but my passion for art outweighed the fear.

My first tatt, I drew myself. My Roman numeral IV with the
lightning and clouds. Being a Fourth for me is something that I have grown to love over the years. It is a suffix that I am proud of.
Coming from a line of great men tied together not only by blood but a name as well.

The second, a spaceship, was thought up over the love for exploration. Trying new things. Wanting to know more about any and everything. Not necessarily participating all of the time but sometimes just observing. Eric Thrice at Liberty Tattoo on ponce designed and inked.

My T with Wings was my third, and probably most painful. It was my first
by Matt Greenhalgh at Only You Tattoo. It is in memory of my grandfather who had recently passed. A tribute to a great man.

The largest of my tatts is the scorpion holding the diamond. In my head, it was a nice size but once the outline was permanent it seemed to expand way larger than i first thought. This is also my only color piece. I am a scorpio but I have always been a fan of multiple attacks. The second of matts work.

My latest but not my last...a satellite. Keeping with the space theme, the satellite was needed. Once you explore there are different ways to share your findings. what better way than a satellite.

This is the beginning of my inked up story. I never knew that I would get this many but now I feel like I don't have enough. I am not a fan of the pick off the wall variety of tattooing but of the time taken in custom pieces. I know that everyone isn't creative but knowing that someone else has the exact same tattoo as you and you aren't the first one to have it has to be a shitty thought. just my opinion tho.

THERE WILL BE MORE!!!

sneakerHEAD

I have been into sneakers since I was young. Always have had a fascination with shoe design. I think growing up in the mid 80's early 90's was the perfect time to grow up. Every shoe had its own personality its own style. All of the stars in the big 3 (NBA,NFL,MLB) had their own shoes, or signature lines. Everyone from Jordan to Griffey to "Prime Time" Deion Sanders, and even Andre Agassi(Tennis) had their personal shoe. Those were all Nike(my fav. brand) but there were others. Shaq, and Shawn Kemp, Frank Thomas, and AI had Reebok lines. Kobe was with Adidas, and Grant Hill FILA.

There was a style for everyone. From the wild to the mild the 80's and 90's were a sneakerhead's heaven. But for a guy like me it was almost like hell at the same time. I was tortured with each release every 3-4 weeks when a new pair of J's or a new signature hit stores. My friends parents would go and stand in lines or even let them miss the first couple of hours of school just to pick up the latest and greatest. My parents sung to a different tune. It went a lil sumthin like, "HELLLL NAWWWW" lol

Even though I was able to get a few pair a year it just didn't seem like enough. But years later a lot of these companies are starting to "retro" some of the classics. I have been making it a point to pick up all of the ones I really wanted. I've waited in line, swapped, spent a "pretty penny" and came up on some bargains but its WORTH IT! and the releases continue....

Im Back for 2011 and Beyond

I fell off after my last post around this time last year but a lot goes on in a years time. I've hit Dubai, Lima, Cairo, Amsterdam(for the 3rd time), and Panama. I have hit a few sporting events here in Atlanta and have been clubbin/ loungin/bar'n all up and down the east coast and Internationally.

2011 for me is going to be a year of more travel, and big decision making. I have a few trips in mind and a few things that I want to get the ball rolling on. I feel like a have procrastinated enough and if i want to be better I must take the steps to get there. Im not saying life isnt good but i saw this quote and it stuck with me.

"good is not good, where better is expected" -Thomas Fuller

So from now on, as I am having the fun, I will update my blog so you can see what's going on in the life of an INTERGALACTIC ECLECTIC
